The O.C. Cancelled

Despite all the carping, criticism and finger-pointing, CBC brass keeps saying its shows are doing just fine, thanks.
Well then, let’s look at the most recent national numbers:
October 1970 (Thursday, Nov. 16): 56,000 viewers.
Rumours (Monday of this week): 94,000.
The Hour (Monday of this week): 82,000.
Intelligence (Tuesday of this week): 247,000.
Dragon’s Den finale (Wednesday of this week): 381,000.
See, still horribly low.
That hasn’t stopped the Corpse from ordering a second edition of its entrepreneurial reality show Dragon’s Den based on a series high of 547,000 viewers three weeks ago. That’s when they called it “CBC’s fastest-growing series.”

The O.C. Fourth Season Gets Its Lower Ratings

Not the best of news for "The O.C". The once hit show has kicked off its fourth season last Thursday with its worst ratings ever. It ended up fourth in its time slot, reaching only 3.38 million viewers. That's certainly a lot of fans, but looks quite sad next to the 20+ million viewers both "Grey's Anatomy" and "CSI" garnered that night.

In the fourth season, you'll see some new looks -- particularly on Rachel Bilson's Summer, who's headed to Brown University -- and some new sensibilities.
"Because they're off to college, they're going to be more mature and adult," says costume designer Robin West. "Their clothes will reflect where they are in life."

 Ah, who can forget that first episode of "The O.C." when bad boy Ryan from low-rent Chino was taken in by the liberal, loving -- and rich -- Cohen family of Orange County? Geeky Seth longed to be cool enough to attract the lovely Summer, and Ryan just wanted out of the 'hood -- and into his new neighbor Marissa's loving arms. Then there were the hip Cohen parents, public defender Sandy and trust fund baby Kirsten, UC Berkeley grads.
How hot was "The O.C."? Willa On The New Season

According to the Usa Today Blogs, It was an O.C. reunion at the Nanette Lepore show Tuesday evening. Actress Willa Holland, who plays the sultry Kaitlin Cooper, sat front row directly across from her TV sister, Mischa Barton (who was killed in a car accident in last season's finale). "You can expect a very different and exciting season," Holland said of The O.C., which begins Nov. 2. She said she can't divulge details, but offered this tidbit: "Luke (Marissa's boyfriend played by Chris Carmack in the first season) had some twin brothers, and I befriend them." Also spotted: broadcaster Soledad O'Brien and Steve Buscemi.
